I AM YOUR PUPPET
Pull my strings and watch me dance.
I will go in whatever direction
that you need me to.
I am only animated when you let
me dance for you.
Otherwise I just sit on the shelf collecting dust.
Sad and forlorn without you to give me life.
With only my thoughts to keep me occupied.
Thoughts of you and all that we could be if only you would
allow me in.
Thoughts about the promises only whispered in the dark.
Thoughts that you did not realize that you said aloud.
I saw you at your loneliest times, when you thought that
no one cared that you lived or died.
These were the times when I silently cried deep inside.
Times when you were most pleased with yourself.
When you accomplished the impossible once again.
When you allowed yourself to finally grin.
You looked in the mirror and actually winked at yourself.
Why can't you share all this with me?
I won't be judgmental.
I love you. You see.
I don't ask for much.
Just a little of your time.
We don't have to do anything special.
Just being with you is enough for me.
Remember. Remember. I am your creation, Puppet Master.
I dance only for you.
I often wonder why I allow you such control.
I know the answer to that. You own me body and soul.
I am the lock. You have the only key.
Pull my strings and I will gladly dance for thee.
I never get tired of doing this dance for you.
You deserve it, my love. Yes, you do.
Please, Puppet Master, make my dreams come true.
Please let me dance once again for you.
