I am guilty as charged.

I gladly admit that I have committed the crime of loving you.

When did that become crime?

A Crime! A Crime!

All I did was love you with all my heart and soul.

I put it out there for all to see. I knew that what I was doing was one day going

to extract a heavy price from me. I gladly took the chance anyway.

You are worth the high cost.

I did not get the brass ring.

I instead got the door of this prison cell slammed in my face.

The crowd has gathered. They are all whispering about how hopeless my case was

from the start.

What a fool! What a fool to risk it all!

Thumbs down is the signal!

The crowd screams hang her out to dry.

You got to be in the forefront of the scorn thrown at me.

You got to throw the first stone.

Then the next. Then the next. Larger stones each time begin to rain down on me.

You mocked the love I have for you. You struck me right in the heart.

I did not ask for your love!

Go away, little girl!

Leave me just as I am in this barren land of denial.

You cast me out of your inner circle.

I felt like an orphan with my nose pressed against the glass watching everyone

else enjoying being in your presence.

You would not even give me the scraps off the table of your love.

I feel like a rat that has been offered the cheese, but got myself caught in the

trap instead. I can't escape no matter

how hard I try. My heart is broken in two.

Have mercy on me, please let me go!

I promise that I won't love you anymore.

That statement by me was received with such disdain.

Now are you going to add perjury to the charges against me.

You are correct. I am lying! I am not going to stop loving you!

I will proudly put on my prison blues.

I will not hang me head in shame. I have done nothing wrong.

All I did was love you.

Most people would be overjoyed to have someone love them.

If that is a crime, then I am guilty as charged.
