A Nightmarish Discovery

Ronda

Summary: A while back, someone mentioned wondering how Christine may have reacted to finding Spock in "Spock's Brain." This VERY SHORT piece takes a look at that thought.

I found him... Why did I have to be the one to find him? He was lying there on the bio bed ... so lifeless...

I immediately began running scans... When I discovered his brain was gone ... surgically removed, I nearly fainted. Never in all my years of practicing medicine have I ever seen something so shocking and horrific. Not even in my worst nightmares, and believe me, I have had some doozies. Especially after working double shifts during a crisis.

But I have never had a crisis like this one. There have been times we nearly lost Spock ... and each time I feared we would lose him...

His brain is gone... Stolen by aliens... Even if we get it back... How will Dr. McCoy ever be able to restore Spock? I fear this time I have truly lost the man I love.

End personal log.
