SILENCE MUST BE HEARD
Ruby Houldson
Silence must be heard.
It is still. It is overpowering.
It cries out in the dead of night.
It screams across the sea of grief and despair.
There is nothing but eternal peace, nothing but sweet death.
A soul is carried through the silence.
Silent tears. Silent pain.
It tears across the earth's plains and soars into the heavens.
There is nothing but silence.
Silence must be heard
for it is the cry of the one who witnesses death as it latches
onto a great soul and whisks it away from the
one who loves deeper than any other.
Silence must be heard
for it is the agonizing stillness of a voice cut
off from those who have listened with love in their heart.
Silence is the blade of a knife that buries itself into
the heart of love, and in its wake there is nothing
but emptiness, nothing except tears of blood.
Silence is an anguished-filled void that must be
released, shared, appeased.
SILENCE must be heard.
