Reflected in Your Eyes
Catherine Kay
had a vision of the sea
Wondering what you meant to me
A stirring that might yet be
Reflected in your eyes
I had a vision of your beauty
Pondered oft in midst of duty
Meditated on in privacy
Reflected in my scrutiny
I had a vision of children there
Flowers nestled in your hair
Luscious lips of red so rare.
Reflected in your stare
I had a vision of passion's blaze
Heat in a sweltering haze.
Fear and longing dogged my days
Reflected in my gaze
You had a vision of fear not bold
Allowing your fires to grow dim and old
Our love melting never told
Reflected in your eyes now cold
I had a vision of you leaving
Never our bodies ever meeting
Loneliness is never fleeting
Reflected in my tears.
